Now six.
Freya Doyle started Strand Studio in 2016 with one chair, a second-hand basin and a client list built entirely on word of mouth. Nine years on, she leads a team of six stylists across cutting, colour and special occasion work, in a studio just off Byres Road.
We've stayed small on purpose. Every stylist here trained for years before touching a paying client's hair, and every appointment starts with an actual conversation—not a rushed five-minute consultation squeezed in before the next booking. If that means a slightly longer wait for an appointment, we think it's worth it.
